About the Role

As the Director of Nursing at Jacaranda Lodge, you will provide strategic and clinical leadership to ensure the delivery of safe, person-centred, and high-quality care for all residents. This role oversees clinical governance, staff leadership, accreditation standards, and AN-ACC optimisation, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional excellence.

Reporting to the Director of Nursing – Ageing and Care at Home, you will lead a multidisciplinary team, ensuring effective clinical systems, workforce planning, and compliance with the Aged Care Quality Standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and empower clinical and administrative teams to deliver exceptional care.
  • Oversee clinical governance, care planning, and compliance with Aged Care Standards.
  • Ensure timely completion and review of care documentation and AN-ACC submissions.
  • Monitor incidents, audits, and quality indicators, implementing corrective actions where required.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage rostering, workforce planning, and recruitment to ensure appropriate skill mix.
  • Liaise with the multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic, person-centred care delivery.
  • Oversee infection prevention, control education, and adherence to clinical protocols.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Admissions, and Lifestyle teams to maintain optimal occupancy.
  • Support accreditation and quality improvement activities aligned with the organisation’s Connected Care vision.




    About You
  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1).
  • Demonstrated leadership experience as a NUM, ANUM, or equivalent senior role in aged care.
  • Strong knowledge of aged care legislation, accreditation, and AN-ACC funding.
  • Proven ability to manage teams, drive change, and maintain clinical excellence.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in systems including MARS, VHIMS, MANAD, MedSig, and rostering software.
  • Commitment to person-centred care, continuous improvement, and positive team culture.
  • Relevant postgraduate qualification in Gerontology or Leadership (preferred).
